Legislation & Resolutions: Numbering System
Explanation
Any legislative body generally has a numbering system for referring to legislation it votes on. The numbering system introduced here is the following:
NgscX.Y where:
- N = the age of the Council during the year of the legislation (starting from when the new Officers take office) : N=1 refers to 1953-'54
- X = the number of the meeting, since the new officers took office, the legislation was introduced in
- Y = number indexing the particular article of legislation among those introduced at meeting X, during year N
Examples
- 50gsc1.1 refers to the first article of legislation introduced during the first meeting run by the 2003-2004 officers
- 51gsc1.1 refers to the first article of legislation introduced during the first meeting run by the 2004-2005 officers
- 51gsc2.1 refers to the first article of legislation introduced during the second meeting run by the 2004-2005 officers
- 51gsc3.2 refers to the second article of legislation introduced during the third meeting run by the 2004-2005 officers
