Key initiatives for the remainder of FY 1998 and for FY 1999 are described in this section. The listing is not exhaustive, however. Given the dynamic nature of information technology, it is difficult to predict all the projects that will be done within this period or which projects may be affected by unexpected work of higher priority.

IS also partners with vendors to influence and adapt their products and services to meet MIT needs. IS actively monitors industry and technology trends and works with vendors to introduce appropriate, reliable, and accessible products to the MIT community.
