Fun Stuff
Here's a list of some fun stuff you can do in DC and in nearby
areas of Maryland and Virginia. This way, you can turn your visit
to the DC area for our wedding into a fun vacation. We hope you
will enjoy your stay!
Disclaimer: the list below does not by any means include all
of the attractions in the Washington, DC, area. If you want to see
something that is not listed below, or want to see more, you are
welcome to look for something yourself or ask us for more
suggestions. This is only a list of our initial suggestions for
those who are new to Washington, DC.
In DC:
In Virginia:
- Great Falls: the Virginia side
- Arlington National Cemetery
- Historic Alexandria: the old town is a beautiful place to visit
- Historic Richmond: about an hour away from Washington, DC; a good place to visit if you are interested in the Civial War and other parts of American History
- Colonial Williamsburg: a great place for those interested in American history; about two to three hours away from Washington, DC
- Various amazing caverns (all 1-3 hours away from Washington, DC, so you'll need a car to see them): Shenandoah Caverns, Natural Bridge and Caverns, Luray Caverns, and others
- Paramount's King's Dominion: a large amusement park, with some attractions based on cartoons and shows by Paramount movie studios; about one and a half to two hours away from Washington, DC
- Busch Gardens/Water Country USA: Busch Gradens is a fun theme park with areas dedicated to different countries (i.e. little Italy, little Gremany, etc.); Water Country is very close by, and offers lots of splashy fun entertainment; both are about two to three hours away from Washington, DC, in Williamsburg, VA
- Beaches all along the coast
