TV listings
TV
listings from
GIST
and
listings from
TV Guide.
Also
this one is reported to have
listings, but I couldn't find my local ones there...
Local Media
There's a bunch of broadcast stations I listen to with info on the net or
reachable by E-Mail:
- WBOS (92.9 FM)
- Has a web page and can be reached
by E-Mail at
wbosonline@aol.com
(although the
Media
List says otherwise.)
- WZLX (100.7 FM)
- Has web pages.
- WGBH (TV 2) and WGBX (TV 44)
- The two Boston PBS stations are
operated by the
WGBH Educational
Foundation. Their Web pages are still a little rough, but include
schedules for
both
WGBH and WGBX.
- WCVB (TV 5)
- By E-Mail at wcvb@aol.com and
they now have a web page.
- WHDH (TV 7)
- Has web pages (but it has
gratuitous use of graphics that get in the way of actually navigating
unless you turn on load images, then it gets slow).
By E-Mail at
74201.2255@compuserve.com
also has a site for their weather
forecasts.
- WSBK (TV 38)
- By E-Mail at
WSBKTV38@aol.com
I subscribe to
MediaOne and, although their
Web pages are, in general, not very useful, I find the page with the
Channel
listings which has links to lots of the services available on
their cable. Some which I've thought important enopugh to transcribe
here:
- TNT (Turner Network
Television)
- Sci-Fi Channel
Just for reference, other Boston media on line include
The Boston Globe.
Star Trek sites
Star Trek: The
Next Generation and
Star Trek: Deep
Space Nine at Surrey Univ. in UK.
Paramount Pictures has an official site with
Star Trek: Voyager
and
Star Trek: Deep
Space 9 information.
Babylon 5
Info is available on the
official site,
the Fan Club site
and
The Lurker's Guide.
TNT has the showing schedule on their
calendar.
Uncomyn Gifts'
Virtual Toy Store has quite a collection of
B5 stuff.
Other SF TV shows
There are
guides for Science
Fiction TV series being collected at Surrey Univ. in UK.
General information source for
The
Prisoner, and the
Yahoo
index. There's a
collection
of pictures, and there are more
Prisoner
pictures in this collection, but it's on netcom and may be hard to
get to. The Sci-FI channel also
has some Prisoner
info (but their pages are too graphics intensive...)
Julie Waters (at
CMU) has a good list of
Prisoner
Links, including most of these others as well.
Uncomyn Gifts'
Virtual Toy
Store has quite a collection of stuff relating to several of these.
Movies
The Movie info and archive,
including On this
day in history, and lots more.
- There are a couple of sources for Star Wars pages, one at
WPI, and another at
CMU (which
doesn't seem to work very well).
- A collection of pages about
Mike
Jittlov and his Wizard of Speed and Time.
- Mel Brook's Blazing
Saddles site, with sound and pictures.
A
- site
that's got lots (but not well set up) on
The Rocky Horror
Picture Show.
Miscellaneous
A collection of stuff related to
Douglas
Adams and Project Galactic
Guide inspired by his
Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy.
There's Monty
Python stuff in grand profusion. If you've ever been in my
office, you might appreciate the
Penguin
sketch, and for those who haven't I'll just note that I have a
small stuffed penguin on top of my terminal.
There's a page dedicated to
Tom Lehrer.
TVnet offers a massive
amount of useful information about television (mostly US). It
includes
schedules,
network info, and
ratings.
There are many interesting
pictures
here.
There's a page for
Xanth
stuff.
