Well, when it comes to fun, the first question you might ask is how happy is the net?

Humor on the Web

The(?) Humor Archives.
Stupid Computer Tricks! has a list of movies that have computers doing the wrong thing...
Dilbert has his own page, and there's a recent one which cycles daily (a little behind the papers) and an Archive covering about two weeks always available.
Bill Maher has an opinion on everything, and he wants to share them all with you. Does anybody have a problem with that?
A series of Doonesbury (as well as others) on GNN's Comix page.
Dr. Fun is a net cartoon (here's the latest one).
Happily Ever After is another one, with continuing characters and good use of the Web for bios and stuff.
The political satire of The Capitol Steps.
Dave Farber has been on the network scene for a long time. He's known for a particular style of fractured sayings which have become known as farberisms and many have been collected.

Games

There are several pages about the games from Infocom. I liked these games very much and thought I'd start collecting some pointers. Unfortunately, I didn't start until after I'd already forgot many, so I only have this one for now...

Random Silliness

There are, of course, several Coke Machines on the net. One at RIT's Comp. Sci. House, one at Columbia and a very colorful one at CMU's School of Computer Science, at least.
and to go with your Coke, how about ordering a pizza online? Pizza Hut will take your order (available in limited areas) for physical delivery of a pizza. The Internet Pizza Server will take your order (universally available) for delivery of a virtual pizza on line (via the web or E-Mail).

And is anyone surprised to find Max Headroom on the Web?
Then there's the Speaking Clock on the net.
This guy has an amazingly wierd collection of stuff.

There are others who collect such interesting trivia pointers. Among them are: Thomas Insel's page of Appliances on the net; and another collected by Sami Tikka at HUT.

Uselessness

And perhaps the premier example of a page of useless trivia is The Useless WWW Pages catalogue itself, listing all those other pages with dubious global value...

Just watch out for burnout.
